Popis: | Cellulose, unesterified with polydeoxythymidylate, polyuridylate or acetate selectively binds polyadenylate (poly [A]) and poly [A]- containing RNAs in high salt solution or in low salt solution at pH values of 5.5 or less. It does not bind heteropolymeric RNA but does have some affinity for DNA, particularly in its single-stranded form. These binding properties are useful in the isolation of heterogeneous nuclear and messenger RNAs of eukaryotic cells for analytic and preparative purposes. |
