Popis: | Despite the fact that spectra of nuclear resonances provide a powerful microscopic probe of condensed matter, NMR techniques have not hitherto been applied to the study of semiconductor heterostructures. The reason is that only a tiny fraction of the nuclei of the sample lie in the portion of interest and are not distinguishable in conventional NMR. We have demonstrated that the problem can be solved by using optical pumping and detection techniques, and have obtained NMR spectra of spatially selected lattice nuclei in a 200Å GaAs quantum well. |
