Popis: Understanding the structure of social relationships is crucial for modeling human behavior. In reality, individuals do not interact with everyone, and the impact of selective connections should not be overlooked when examining the spread of specific behaviors. Behaviors are often motivated by underlying beliefs that also diffuse through a population. These shared beliefs can serve as coordination devices, connecting like-minded individuals and catalyze cooperation. Belief dynamics and the underlying social structure can be strategically leveraged to influence behavior and encourage cooperation. We shed light on how the properties of social networks impact the speed and effectiveness of belief diffusion and correlated actions. Thus we improve our understanding of processes governing social change and the impact of interventions on social engineering.
