Popis: Muscle injuries are the most common injuries in professional athletes forced to high-intensity sprinting efforts. Due to a high recurrence rate and possible consequences for elite athletes, it is one of the most challenging tasks for a sports medicine team to prepare a professional athlete to return to performance. This results in an ongoing search for new treatments to improve and accelerate muscle healing. In this chapter, we describe the principle of muscle healing and discuss the contemporary biological therapies with the available scientific evidence on their efficacy and safety.
