Popis: | PREVIOUS studies with mitomycin C, a new antibiotic isolated from Streptomyces caespitosus by Wakaki et al., have demonstrated antibacterial activity as well as a marked antitumour effect1,2. In the course of investigating the mechanism of the actions of mitomycin C, evidence was obtained that this antibiotic selectively inhibits the synthesis of deoxyribonucleic acid in Escherichia coli B. |
