Popis: | 1. 1. Severe zinc deficiency in the chick was produced by feeding 1·3 ppm dietary zinc. 2. 2. Tissue zinc content was depleted in the tibia more than in the liver and intestine. 3. 3. Alkaline phosphatase activities compared to zinc-supplemented controls were effected as follows: tibia, 70 per cent reduction; intestinal mucosa, 34 per cent reduction; and liver, 66 per cent increase. 4. 4. The effects of preincubation with additional Zn 2+ on alkaline phosphatase activities were not altered dy dietary zinc. |
