Popis: | Intracranial meningiomas are uncommon in the pediatric group. Myxoid meningioma is a subtype of metaplastic meningioma. It is the rarest WHO grade I meningioma. Only one case of pediatric myxoid meningioma was described in the literature. We report the case of 14-year-old boy who presented with a left parietal dura-inserted tumor. Histological and immunological studies concluded to a myxoid meningioma. We reviewed the literature for this rare pathology and draw attention to the necessity of distinguishing it from other mucinous tumors of the central nervous system, especially chordoid meningioma which has poorer prognosis. |
