Popis: | This is a preliminary report on the occurrence in Western Australia of a hemolysin resembling in specificity, but not identical with classical anti-Tja. It was found in sera of pregnant women who threatened to abort. Complete absence of the hemolysin in a similar group of non-pregnant aborters, normal pregnant women, and a large group of husbands, suggest that the presence of “anti-Tja-like” hemolysins is associated with pregnancy. However, attempts to demonstrate hemolysins in a similar group of aborters in the United States and Canada have thus far been negative. |
