Popis: It is not unusual for academic libraries to modify their services around (library-created) data. Data is information, one of the critical inputs among other variables that we can measure in the libraries. Librarians are familiar with the statistical methods and their full potential in library analytics for creating data-informed or data-driven decisions regarding collection management, library catalogue searches, logs to online resources, etc. Learning analytics, on the other hand, is focused on the data about learners and their context for purposes of understanding and optimizing learning and the environment in which it occurs. Academic library as a part of the higher education ecosystem is a natural partner with data sources that can combine with other institutional systems and generate new information about our learners, learning and instruction. Although it is a novelty for libraries, some of them are using learning analytics to evaluate the impact of libraries services, collections and student learning. The literature states that librarian investment in learning assessment to involvement in learning analytics is a natural one - but are we ready for it?
