Popis: This chapter shows the recent trends on the use of anodized aluminum oxide (AAO) nanochannel arrays for electrochemical sensing of proteins and DNA with a special focus on those based on voltammetric detections. Some general considerations on nanochannels and especially on AAO nanoporous membranes are given first, followed by the receptors (antibody, DNA) immobilization as well as the set-up configuration. The typical optimization procedures as well as the detection principles ranging from the use of ionic electroactive indicators and nanoparticles (used also as blockers) are discussed. Aspects related to the analytical performance of the developed devices while applied in diagnostics including cancer biomarker detection are also given. Finally an overview for future improvements and applications of this technology are included.
