Popis: | A technique is presented for automatically obtaining the haemoglobin-oxygen equilibrium curve from samples of concentrated haemoglobin solutions or whole blood The amount of oxygen exchanged to the sample across a silicone rubber membrane is calculated from the diffusion equation using a calibrated gas source and the measured pO2 of the sample. With this system it is possible to calculate the entire equilibrium curve from a set of pO2 measurements made as the desaturated sample is raised to an oxygen partial pressure of 150 mm Hg or greater if desired. |
