Popis: | In paraffin sections of formalin-fixed human oral mucous membrane, Pontamine black RRX (Direct Black 5, C. I. 30245) stained both squamous cell carcinoma and benign fibrous hyperplasia. A 2% solution of the former (PB RRX) required a 20 min staining time; a 3% solution of the latter (PFB PGR), 30 min. Staining was tested for acidified, unmodified, and alkalinized aqueous solutions of the dyes. The addition of 1 ml of concentrated NH, OH to 100 ml of the PB RRX improved staining slightly; acidification reduced the intensity. The addition of 4 ml of 1 N HCI to 100 ml of the PFB PGR enhanced the speed and intensity of staining; alkalinization was without effect. |
