| Popis: | Summary A case of oat-cell carcinoma of the bronchus with hyponatr˦mia is described in a young man in whom the biochemical abnormality was discovered on routine investigation. Increased ADH activity and low aldosterone were demonstrated in the urine. Results of biochemical study before, during, and after a course of radiotherapy are presented. A proximal renal tubular defect and depressed secretion of aldosterone from increased ADH activity are suggested causes of hyponatr˦mia in this syndrome. |
