Popis: | A strain of E. coli (04 U4/41) was used to produce retrograde pyelonephritis in rats. By means of indirect immunofluorescence technique the localization and persistence of common enterobacterial antigen (CA) and type-specific bacterial antigen (TSA) in the inflamed kidney tissue were followed for 4 months. It appeared that demonstrable bacterial antigen disappeared from the tissue during this period. In amorphous form, CA and TSA were initially found in the same localizations, but did not show parallelism in persistence, as CA in nearly all localizations disappeared earlier from the tissue than TSA; this could be observed especially in macrophages. |
