Popis:	A new procedure was developed for preparation of ethyl 3-amino-5-arylthiophene-2-carboxylates by the reaction of α-chlorocinnamonitriles and their analogs with ethyl mercaptoacetate for a wide range of substrates. The reaction products form in high yields.
