Popis: | Antibody raised in rabbits against the homopolymer Poly(γ-2-n-Morpholinylethyl- l -Glutamide) (PAMEG) using either complete Freund's adjuvant or PAMEG coated pneumococcal bacterial cells is directed against the morpholinylethyl side chains. The backbone polypeptide carrier, polyglutamic acid, neither precipitates with not inhibits PAMEG antibody. A conjugate of morpholinyl-propylamine and acetylated bovine serum albumin is capable of removing 90 per cent of the PAMEG precipitable antibody. Compounds such as N-ethylmorphine containing the basic features of the morpholine ring (similar ring conformation) are potent inhibitors of the PAMEG precipitin system. The data presented demonstrate a unique hapten specific system. |
