Popis: | An in vivo assay was developed for long-term analyses of Schwann cells at the single cell level. Schwann cells were isolated from sciatic nerves and labeled with the fluorescent gold label Fluoro-Gold. Cells were then transplanted into severed sciatic nerves of young adult rats. Gold-labeled Schwann cells, identified by double-labeling with S100 antibodies, were observed up to 10 mm away from the transplant site and after 90 and 120 days of survival in vivo. |
