Popis: | A new animal method has been evaluated to predict clinically useful anti-depressant agents. The test relies on the potentiating effects of anti-depressants on the behavioral and physiological changes induced by YOH in the conscious dog. Two agents, BL-KR 140 and EXP-561, which were predicted to be useful anti-depressant agents from the animal tests, failed to potentiate YOH induced changes, unlike IMI. Clinically also they were found to lack any anti-depressant activity. It is proposed that this test should be further evaluated employing established and potential anti-depressant agents. |
