Popis: Dear Editor, With great interest, we have read a review entitled “Anti- microbial guide to posterior segment infections” by Patel, Zacks and Dedania which was published in Graefe's Archive for Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology in November 2020. The authors have thoroughly described best treatment options for many types of endophthalmites, including endog- enous endophthalmitis caused by the Clostridium species. Bacteria of the Clostridium species are a rare, but dev- astating cause of endophthalmitis. We present a case of endogenous endophthalmitis caused by Clostridium septi- cum, which was a frst presentation of adenocarcinoma of the colon, with aim to raise awareness of this rare but very dangerous bacteria which is often related to malignancies and to ofer a short analysis of all similar cases and articles available.
