| Popis: | Mucocele of the sphenoid sinus is a potentially serious lesion because it is often misdiagnosed and operated on as a pituitary tumor, thereby increasing the morbidity and mortality.Tomography is of great importance in the diagnosis, revealing a sharply marginated soft-tissue mass with destruction of the floor of the sella turcica as the predominant finding.Once the benignity of the lesion is established, it may be properly treated by a transnasal approach. |
