Popis: | Electrical activity of the smooth muscle of the gastric antrum has been studied in 40 normal human subjects. During the investigations, they fasted and were placed in a supine position. Electrical activity has been recorded with a bipolar method, with needle electrodes being introduced perorally into the gastric cavity; these electrodes placed in a rubber cup were applied by suction against the antral mucosa. The antral pressure was recorded in a water-filled latex balloon fixed onto the tube, near the cup containing the electrodes. |
