Popis: | Possible age-dependent accumulation of physico-chemical changes in purified mouse liver DNA was investigated. Previous reports of another laboratory (Chetsanga et al. , 1977) have indicated the presence and substantial age-dependent increase in the fraction of single-stranded regions in the DNA from three mouse tissues. Using the S 1 nuclease technique for detecting single-stranded DNA sequences, as well as isopycnic density gradient centrifugation and thermal stability analysis, we cannot confirm this result and find no significant change in the double-stranded integrity of purified mouse liver DNA. |
