Popis: Background: We present a clinical case of a 53-year-old female patient with a history of acute appendicitis in June 2022, which was managed surgically with open appendectomy. 4 months after, on October, she was admitted at the ER with abdominal pain of 12 hours of evolution, poorly localized, mostly in the lower abdomen, colic type, constant, progressive, without presenting accompanying symptoms such as fever, diarrhea or vomiting, only nausea. On examination, signs of peritoneal irritation were found, with laboratories showing leukocytosis and abdominal CT-Scan reporting images suggestive of acute appendicitis, for this reasons, she was admitted to the operating room and an exploratory laparotomy was performed. During this procedure, an appendiceal stump of approximately 2 cm in length was found, with hyperemia and fibrin membranes observed. Pouchet-type stump management was performed, leaving less than 5 mm of remnant. Keywords: Stump appendicitis.
