Popis: Structure and strength of hydrogen bonds in inorganic solids are discussed with respect to the various X –H⋯ Y n motifs possible, the inherent hydrogen bond donor strength of the acid hydrogen atom and acceptor capability of the respective acceptor groups, collective phenomena, as cooperative, competitive, and synergetic effects, and structural features, as the number of acceptors, e.g. two-center, three-center (bifurcated), etc. hydrogen bonds, and the hydrogen bond angles X –H⋯ Y (linear or bent) and H⋯ Y – Z . Experimental (X-ray, neutron, IR, Raman, NMR, NQR, etc.) and theoretical results on X –H(D)⋯bond lengths and angles, X H(D) stretching and bending modes (frequencies, intensities, and half widths), 1 H MAS NMR chemical shifts, and 2 D NQR coupling constants are reviewed.
