Popis: | Blood meals from 73 mosquitoes and 11 Culicoides spp. collected during an epizootic of eastern equine encephalitis in the Dominican Republic were identified by precipitin test to determine their origin. Only 2 ( Aedes hemisurus and Culex taeniopus ) mosquitoes contained equine blood. Although Culex nigripalpus was the most abundant mosquito in the collections, none of the 61 individuals tested had fed on equines. |
