Since 1989, an open-to-all city seminar “Neuropsychology and Speech Therapy Questions of theory and practice” (headed by M. G. Khrakovskaya) has been regularly opened on a voluntary basis to exchange experience between specialists in relevant scientific fields, during which speech therapists, doctors, and students gathered. The soul and coveted participant in these meetings was N. N. Traugott. In 1992, the head of this seminar was M. G. Khrakovskaya and A. N. Shepovalnikov at the Institute of Evolutionary Physiology and Biochemistry named after I. Sechenov organized the conference “Central mechanisms of speech”. The organizers were united in understanding the need for interaction between scientists and practitioners, joint acquaintance and discussion of modern achievements both in speech therapy and in all areas related to this profession. These beliefs were shared by N. N. Traugott, who lectured at the first conference
