Popis: Adaptive frequency control of the temperature of an electric resistance furnance, which is presented in this paper, uses a PID controller. Initial settings, which are required by the MDM identification, are captured during start-up while the furnace is heating-up. A Multifrequency Data Measurement (MDM) identification algorithm allows a continuous high precision determination of the controller settings. Although the process is only slightly disturbed, continuous information about the process dynamics is obtained. This approach provides precise information at the phase crossover with the determination of two suitably placed points in the frequency response. Any errors due to the slow change of the furnace dynamics are corrected. A mid power industrial electric resistance furnace is used in the experimental work.
