Popis: | Summary After reviewing the records for two patients, using the 15 guidelines listed earlier, there was no obvious evidence of primary trauma from occlusion caused by an oral orthosis during 13 years of use. The patients were able to maintain good oral hygiene with the help of attendants and the recall system at the Ohio State Dental Clinic. The absence of secondary occlusal trauma can possibly be attributed to this lack of significant attachment loss. It is, therefore, our opinion that a properly fitted occlusal orthosis, together with proper home care, has the capacity of producing no deleterious effects on the periodontium, teeth, and the associated musculoskeletal system over an extended period. |
