Popis: | SUMMARY Two field trials were made with a formalinized vaccine against enzootic pneumonia. In the first, the pigs received a single dose subcutaneously at three weeks of age; in the second, two doses were given subcutaneously at three weeks and five weeks of age. Control animals were given a similar product containing saline instead of Mycoplasma suipneumoniae antigen. Data for 298 vaccinated animals and 279 controls were included in the final analyses. The vaccine had no effect on the rate of growth or the incidence and extent of pneumonia at slaughter. |
