Popis: | O presente trabalho trata de um diagnostico ambiental, realizado na microbacia do Rio do Saco, no municipio de Santa Luzia, estado da Paraiba. Com o objetivo de se avaliar os fatores de risco da deterioracao ambiental ocasionada pela exploracao agropecuaria e extrativismo vegetal, aplicaram-se questionarios junto a populacao da area em estudo. A metodologia utilizada nesta pesquisa nao avalia apenas os aspectos fisicos ou biologicos vulneraveis ao processo de deterioracao ambiental, mas, tambem, considera aspectos sociais (demografia, nivel de instrucao, dentre outras) dos habitantes da microbacia. Constatou-se que a maioria dos chefes de familias apresenta idade ≥ 66, revelando a ausencia da populacao jovem na microbacia e um nivel de escolaridade baixo dos habitantes; ja a deterioracao ambiental foi da ordem de 41,38%, valor critico de acordo com a metodologia utilizada por Rocha (1997). Environmental Diagnosis of the Rio do Saco Watershed, Santa Luzia-PB ABSTRACT This work deals with an environmental assessment conducted in the watershed of the Saco River in the municipality of Santa Luzia, Paraiba state. In order to evaluate the risk factors of environmental degradation caused by agricultural exploitation and extraction plant, questionnaires were applied to the population of the study area. The methodology used in this study not only evaluates the physical or biological process vulnerable to environmental deterioration, but also considers social aspects (demography, education level, among others) of the inhabitants of the watershed. It was found that most heads of households aged ≥ 66 shows, revealing the absence of the young population in the watershed and a low level of education of the inhabitants, whereas the environmental deterioration was approximately 41.38%, according to the critical value the methodology used by Rocha (1997).
