Popis:	Robert James Merrett : Discussion of wine in regional journalism and national identity (1750-1790). This article surveys the journalism produced in eleven provincial centres of the wine trade in 18th-century France. By showing what the affiches reveal about this trade, the article considers how this court-controlled and miscellaneous journalism may yield documentary information useful to cultural history. The rhetoric of the regional press is oblique and contradictory, but such faults expose interesting problems in the wine trade, problems that reflect how the history of industry, trade and consumerism enlightens social issues, such as the formation of national identity.
