Popis: | Cells derived from tissue containing different elements of the conduction system of the neonatal rat heart have been isolated and maintained separately in culture. The autorhythmic cells are of three morphological types, one of which has not previously been described, and the distribution of these types is dependent on the anatomic origin of the cells. The heterogeneity in morphology and intrinsic rate of contraction is consistent with in vivo observations. |
