Popis: | If tumor cells are known to affect immune functions through a series of different strategies mostly relying on the release of soluble suppressive molecules, their ability of using suppressive membrane vesicles, the so called exosomes, to mould tumor microenvironment has been so far rather neglected. Here we want to gather attention on this alternative pathway of intercellular cross-talk, discussing the possible implications in tumor immunity and disease progression, and shedding light into the potential ways to counteract exosomes release by cancer cells. |
