Popis:	Fluorescent spirolactone derivatives are obtained by coupling 3-carboxylic coumarins to a spirolactone bearing a 3-hydroxypropyl chain in the 7α position. The two esters prepared by this method are highly fluorescent (emission 383 and 408 nm).
