| Popis: | SUMMARY As shown in the illustrations, the height of the abdominal air space in a patient with artificially induced pneumoperitoneum is increased on deep inspiration as compared with expiration. It is therefore concluded that for those patients receiving pneumoperitoneum refills in whom an appreciable air space is not present, the insertion of the needle at the end of a deep inspiration is a safer procedure to reduce the danger of injuring the abdominal viscera. |
