Theoretical and methodological aspect of profession-based English communication

Popis: The article deals with the theoretical and methodological aspect of profession oriented English communication. The author analyzes the existing definitions and outlines the main characteristics and features of profession oriented English communication. Differences of profession oriented communication include: rationality, limitation, analytics, obligatory, regularity. It is cleared up that profession oriented English communication operates due to the need of communicative intent, and communicators have certain social relations that arise in the professional sphere of communication and are realized in specific communicative situations. In the process of profession oriented English communication, the personality of communicator develops the following qualities of communication: transpersonality, congruence, constructiveness, cooperation, reflection. The structure of profession oriented English communication includes communicative (exchange of information with the purpose of achieving professional goals), interactive (exchange of knowledge, ideas and ability to relate actions to a specific situation) and perceptual (process of perception by partners of each other, mutual understanding). The main functions of profession oriented English communication include: informative and communicative (the processes of receiving and transmitting information), regulatory and communicative (the mutual correction of actions in the implementation of joint activities), affective and communicative (refers to the emotional sphere). In profession oriented English communication there are three levels: cognitive, active and professional. External conditions (physical, social and temporal), which impose restrictions on the communicator in the process of profession oriented English communication, are highlighted.
