Ações de educação alimentar e nutricional para adolescentes praticantes de jiu-jitsu de Florianópolis - SC

Popis: The Vivendo a Arte social project enables teenagers to participate in sports as a way to reduce possible negative influences from the place where they live, in addition to promoting health. In 2019, the Tutorial Nutrition Education Program of the Federal University of Santa Catarina (PET / NUT / UFSC) provided food and nutrition education activities with a group of teenagers in the Jiu-Jitsu modality, with the aim of promoting adequate and healthy eating for optimization sports performance and health. Five meetings were held, from June to December, for 31 adolescents, between 13 and 18 years old. The project was developed in five meetings held from June to December 2019, involving 31 teenagers, between 13 to 18 years old. In these meetings were addressed: the basic principles of nutrition, sports nutrition, supplementation and dangers of doping and fad diets, eating disorders and body image. After the intervention, more than 75% of the participants reported improvement in nutritional knowledge about and eating habits. As for the group of work, the experience of this activity provided greater contact with the experience of the nutritionist's performance in teaching, developing oratory skills, deepening in themes taught, teamwork and organization.
