Popis: | High resolution Fourier transform proton NMR spectra obtained from ethionine-induced fatty livers show lipid-like resonances in the 0.9–3.0 p.p.m. region in addition to the water proton resonance. Partially relaxed proton spectra obtained using the inversion recovery (180°-τ-90°) pulse sequence and spectra obtained using the spin-echo (90°-τ-180°-τ-echo) pulse sequence demonstrate that these signals are independent of the water signal. Natural abundance carbon-13 NMR spectra of fatty livers show resonances identical to those of triglycerides. It is concluded that both proton and carbon-13 NMR spectra can be used to detect the triglyceride accumulation in fatty liver development. |
