Popis: | The effects of 4-aminopyrazolopyrimidine (APP) on lipid content, on lipogenesis and on ATP and nicotinamide nucleotide levels in the liver of rats were studied at various time intervals after injection of APP. Treatment with APP caused a maximal increase of total liver lipids within 16 hours following injection together with a decrease of incorporation of 1- 14 C-acetate into lipids in vitro. Liver ATP content, after a temporary enhancement, was rapidly decreased by the administration of APP; a large decrease in NADH and NADPH resulted. The relationships between the onset of fatty liver, ATP and nicotinamide nucleotide concentration in the liver of APP-treated animals are discussed. |
