Popis: | The conversion of glutamate into fatty acids by a pathway analogous to reversal of a part of the citric acid cycle is now well established in rat liver cytosol (D’Adamo & Haft, 1965; Leveille & Hanson, 1966u), adipose tissue (Madsen etal., 1964; Leveille & Hanson, 1966b), mammary gland (Abraham et aZ., 1964) and brain (DAdamo & DAdamo, 1968; D’Adamo et al., 1975). We have shown (Keech et aZ., 1976~) that the reductive carboxylation of oxoglutarate to isocitrate in this pathway may be catalysed in rat liver cytosol by an ATP-dependent isocitrate synthase system in the following two steps |
