Popis: | The appearance of gas in the wall of the stomach is of rare occurrence in the radiological examination of the abdomen. Terminology such as emphysematous gastritis, gastric pneumatosis and pneumatosis cystoides have all been applied to this appearance by Colquhoun (1965) and Keyting, McCarver, Kovarik and Daywitt (1961). Each of these terminologies suggests a slightly different radiological appearance—varying from small cystic collections of gas to linear translucencies of various shapes and sizes. All represent gas in the wall of the stomach, but the significance of these findings is purely that of the underlying pathology. |
