Popis: | Introduction Dasylepis (formerly Flacourtiaceae now Achariaceae (Chase et al. 2002)) is a genus of six species confined to tropical continental Africa. It occurs from Guinea in the West to Kenya and Tanzania in the East (Sleumer 1972). Identification of new material with Sleumer's (1972) key to the species is problematic due to the difficulty of distinguishing between the two widespread species D. racemosa Oliv. and D. brevipedicellata Chipp. This can be solved by uniting D. brevipedicellata and D. racemosa under the latter name. Another problem is the delimitation of D. blackii (Oliv.) Chipp. The material assigned to D. blackii by Sleumer (1972) proved to consist of a mixture of two species, D. blackii sensu stricto, only known from the type collected near the border between Equatorial Guinea and Gabon and a recent collection from SW |
