Popis: | The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence guidelines1 for managing childhood urinary tract infection (UTI) suggest restricting subsequent antibiotic prophylaxis to vulnerable groups but giving 3 days prophylaxis to all children undergoing voiding cystourethrography (VCUG). The evidence for this latter recommendation is weak,2 with the only previous study3 being retrospective and without a control group.
