Popis: | As partly fluorinated hydrocarbons (HFCs) are increasingly used in refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump applications to replace formerly used chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and hydrochlorofluorocarbons which are made responsible for stratospheric ozone depletion, the knowledge about the interactions of HFCs and potential sealing materials becomes of special interest due to the high polarity of the HFCs. In order to evaluate the suitability of a polymer as sealing material for certain HFCs as working fluids in process plants, information about the fluid diffusivity into and in the polymer has to be obtained. In contrast to conventional methods, such as gravimetric analysis and optical microscopy, magnetic resonance measurements allow contact-free in situ investigations not influencing the diffusion process or bear the necessity to destroy the sample. |
