Popis: | Infections are a common complication among people who inject drugs (PWID). Skin and soft tissue infections (SSTI) as well as bone and joint infections comprise a significant source of morbidity and mortality among this population. The appropriate recognition and management of these infections are critical for providers, as is familiarity with harm-reduction strategies. This review provides an overview of the presentation and management of SSTI and bone and joint infections among PWID, as well as key prevention measures that providers can take. |
