Popis: During the early Mississippian period, the Prather polity was situated on the northeastern boundary of the Mississippian world. The Prather polity was a result of interaction with larger Mississippian polities to the west, such as Cahokia. This interaction led to the establishment of an administrative mound center. The material culture recovered from early Mississippian sites in the Falls region is suggestive of a rigid Mississippian/Fort Ancient boundary.
