Popis:	In the paper the architecture for accessing data in the grid environment, developed for EU CrossGrid Project, is presented. The local optimization problems for efficient data access and estimation of data access time are discussed mainly, while the overall architecture is proposed on the base of collaboration with European Data Grid.
