Popis: | Rhabdomyosarcomas are the most common sarcomas of childhood, comprising 5% to 15% of all childhood solid tumors and 4% to 8% of total childhood malignancies. Although primary lesions are most common in the head and neck, approximately 20% involve the genitourinary system. Most rhabdomyosarcomas present by age 10 years, and 2 age peaks are observed at ages 2 to 6 years and 15 to 19 years. However, neonatal rhabdomyosarcomas are extremely rare. Of 3,217 patients in Intergroup Rhabdomyosarcoma Study (IRS) groups I to IV only 14 (0.4%) were younger than 30 days at diagnosis.1 To our knowledge only 2 other cases of bladder rhabdomyosarcoma neonates have been reported.1, 2 CASE REPORT |
