Popis: | Calibration of pieces of H 3 -polymethylmethacrylate was accomplished by a routine liquid scintillation counting method. The detection efficiency of NTB nuclear track emulsion for tritium beta particles was determined. The emulsion sensitivity was found to change over the first 4 days for most of the emulsion batches. The grain production was linear from day 4 to 14. The response of the emulsion was constant for bottles with the same batch number, but sometimes varied significantly between batches. The rate of latent image fading was determined for the conditions existing in this laboratory. A theoretical calculation of the rate of grain formation in the NTB emulsion was made using the values derived from these techniques and was compared with the experimental results. These techniques described can be applied to many quantitative autoradiography situations which may be found in other laboratories. |
