Popis: | Female rats were treated with 6.25 mg cortisone acetate daily, and found to develop marked elevation of plasma fatty acids. The hepatic triglyceride accumulation, previously demonstrated, appears to result from hepatic uptake of these free fatty acids. No defect in hepatic protein synthesis, secretion of lipid from the liver, or lack of adenine was demonstrable in the cortisonetreated rat. |
